When the cyclone stormed this week, apparently, Mani Ratnam, who was planning to shoot some vital scenes in such climatic settings, made use of Nialm. Sources say that Mani Ratnam and his crew shot some scenes near Kasimedu and Royapuram surroundings in the cyclone. Aravind Swami, who is playing an important role in the film confirmed this news by sharing on his micro blogging site. "Awesome experience of shooting in cyclonic weather in the sea for a sequence in Kadal," (sic) he posted.
